When is violence necessary? Should Men be Like Hercules to Be Loved By Women?
Is violence a necessary evil in our society? That's my question for all of you pips on my map. Do we need to display some form of violence sometimes? Is there a time when logic is not enough? The violence I am talking is the kind that we see on TV in Iraq, on the streets of Jozi when strikers are damaging property and police firing a fuselade of bullets. The violence of a man beating his wife, a wife beating her husband, a husband beating a man who had sex with his wife, etc.. The violence of fighting back when someone challenges your value as a person. The violence of pugilists in a boxing ring, karatekas in a back-breaking contest. The guns, the bombs, the sjamboks, the knives, the breaking of plates.
Can violence ever be justified? If we can justify one form of violence can we judge those who practice another? Should we tell people who to kick, when and why? And why do women love men who have an edge of fighting or defending them violently? Angry men? Are logical men who advocate peace and negotiation cowards who can't show that they are men?
When last did you pray? What did he say?
