Amongst Mapulana he was called Kobeng as they could not pronounce his name. His nickname was Mogane. Because of his privileged position as a translator, and with the help of his masters he assumed chieftancy of a group of bagaMashigo which was under Kaishang. Their praise poem Mogane o edja togolo ya Mashego attest to this peculiar arrangement. The poem means that bagaMogane eat a type of mielie porridge which belonged to Mashego.

Hi I need help with thibela clans

Unknown said...

Oh yes, my father used to tell us that we are actually descended from the Kenya region of Africa as Mashego. To me that made sense as our totum is the Lion and of course we know that area of Africa and the South to be endowed with lions and our people are said to coexist with lions in as harmonious a way as possible. Thank you

Unknown said...

I must go to Casteel too...

Mapulana ke bana ba Tau Sethlano! All the other surnames out of the 05 are not Mapulana. Theledi, Marule, Thete, Seerane, Magopane, Mokgope.... they are not.

Mapulana ke Mashego, Mogane, Chiloane, Mashile, Malele!
