I take off my hat to the American people, whose majority is white in skin colour. You have proven once again that the human spirit does not recognise colour, but sees the treasure bestowed on all humanity, especially those who seek to better the lives of all, not just the lives of an ethnic group or creed. America is indeed the land of dreams.

Viva Barak Obama, the new state president of the superpower. For the first time in American history, the First Lady shares the same skin colour as my mom. We thank Americans for the validation that black is not foul. I hope all South Africans take something from this great nation, a superpower.

Obama helps us realise how flawed our system really is whereby the guy who is first in line to be our president was recently acquitted of rape, has a corruption charge hanging over him, has seven wives and some people are willing to kill for him.
